Tanja Liedtke, who has been killed in a road accident aged 29, was a glamorous dancer and contemporary choreographer who had just been appointed artistic director of the Sydney Dance Company, Australia's largest modern dance troupe. German-born but British-trained, Tanja Liedtke was a notable performer on stages in Britain, having made a powerful impact on recent tours by DV8 Physical Theatre (the leading London-based company run by Lloyd Newson) and, earlier this year, with her own choreography in London,
