I can't believe it's been 4 years - missing you more than ever ..
Just found out.....memories of scaling the walls of a whole scout hall (hand over hand) looking for table-tennis balls stuck in a picture rail (holding his weight off the ground for 3 minutes without raising a sweat), the rock climbing, drinking 30 std drinks at the 1990 Science Ball (perhaps more), the ability to do 3-dimension maths in his head (unbelievable), the fragility...............
From the school bus rides, to doing "Bow legged chicken" in front of the whole school. From physics class to watching you plant trees at Clunes. From one word text messages, to long lunches. What a person! Having a brain and personality like yours that burn so brightly, it can't be possible to live forever. Looking forward to hearing "Bennett" in the afterlife. All my love.
Only known you a short time, but enough to miss your cheeky characteristics. Peace be with you.
"Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far they can go" (T.S Eliot) So many memories dear friend. You were one of a kind. You filled so many lives with your great spirit. Often left us gasping, laughing, crying, smiling and loved. You had integrity and an honesty that for better or worse was always delivered in your inimicable way. What you achieved in your time and how many lives you touched is testament to the goodness within you. It's hard to stop writing because you are a person who you dearly want to keep talking to. Your breadth of vision, your humour, your grumpy lovability, your appetite, your acceptance of others were all just so beautifully you. Rest well Sharif, you were so tired. You'll always be in my heart and many others. We won't forget you, HOW COULD WE? and I don't think you would let us. Vale dearest friend. Love and sympathy to Bruce, Amida, Antony and Marcus
Your star will always shine brightly...
