Being a follower in 1966 of "The Questions" i'll always remember Rory, as we knew him, belting out "A Whiter Shade of Pale" by Procol Harum. Wow what a memory! So sorry to only know now of his passing. What a great legacy he's left in his family and students. God bless Rory.

I knew Rory in the early 1970s, unfortunately we lost contact in about 1974. He was one of the most genuine and caring people I have ever known. I feel honoured to have known him. So sorry to hear of his passing. R.I.P. Rory.

Rory and I crossed paths several times over 4 decades. Each time he inspired and influenced in positive ways. He taught and inspired my children with great skill, humour and enthusiasm. They were and continue to be inspired by his passion and were encouraged to pursue their love of music to it's end. He left no doubt that he knew his purpose in this life. Rory, you lived a magnificent life and were an inspiration. If we all lived our passion as you did.....wow, how much we could achieve. I am so glad we crossed paths....RIP....you have earned it! I have just read of the very sad passing of Rory Thomas. He was a great educator and proponent of jazz in Australia, in particular Sydney and NSW. God bless you Rory for all your good work in supporting jazz in Australia. Sorely missed. Craig Scott
