Apparently the word "Buddha" is a title for the first awakened being in an era. This was Nick's "Nick Name" at Geelong Grammar School where I first met him in Cuthbertson boarding house back in 1981. I don't know why he was called that back then? Possibly his size. I wasn't in his year group (I was the year above) but I enjoyed his company while playing Rugby and also while pushing him around occasionally in the boarding house to see who was strongest. I always won of course but I sometimes wondered if he didn't let me win because I was the elder, wiser one? Or was I? Hmmm? I recall he was a little too strong to take too lightly albeit a very like able fellow; easy to get along with and always wore a ready smile in the face of being trounced! I was surprised to read of his passing on his OGG profile. All the best in the higher echelons mate! Maybe they need you up there to help push things around a bit. Perhaps, your passing will inspire those you've touched to read some Buddha quotes. Whatever. You were a good fellow (RIP).

Nick and I would catch up for breakfast in Seoul when I visited from Hong Kong and prior to his move to Singapore. On occasion it would be the Seoul Club. Our conversation was usually all over the place - raising families in Asia, being patient in trying to get things done and some times race horses. We had only known each other for few years, which was far to short.

Nick was a true builder of institutions and a natural leader. He had great success in business but there will be so much potential that will remain unfulfilled. He was a devoted family man and my very belated condolences to his family as I just heard of his untimely passing away.

I was at school with Tim......but many years ago I was in london about the same time as Nick.....we caught up on the odd occassion......and then back in Melb before we went and took on the world. My heart goes out to all his family. All too soon for a really smart and nice guy.
