FURTHER DEATH NOTICE (Mrs Byrnes - wife of Mostyn): BYRNES, Doreen Phyllis Death notice pubished in Sydney Morning Herald on 24 February 2007 Passed away peacefully on 22 January 2007 at Strathfield, aged 91. Born Wagga Wagga 15 January 1916. Later esident of Cairns, Ashfield and Turramurra. Daughter of Cecil William Steiner and Elsie Mary Steiner (nee Clout) and descendant of Clout family members who migrated from Kent to Camden NSW in 1839. Beloved wife of Mostyn Arthur Byrnes, recently deceased. Loving mother and mother-in-law of John and Ann. Much loved grandmother of Juliet. Sister and sister-in-law of Raymond (deceased) and Dorothy Steiner and fond aunt of their family. Devoted friend from schooldays of Sadie O'Reilly (Mrs Woodward).
I never knew Mostyn. But as I listened to the proceedings of Mostyn's farewell, I recognised many personal characteristics found in other Byrnes family members. I am glad to have learned so much about the Byrnes family, and met so many of its members. I am also pleased that Mostyn's burial place adds some continuity to the Byrnes at the Wesleyan Methodist now Uniting Church cemetery at Castlereagh.
