The only sphere in which I knew Mick was as the head mechanic on Ian Geoghegan's racing Mustang and Falcon. That alone says a lot about the man's abilities, as 'Big Pete' was able to wring the necks of those cars and they were famous for not failing him. Mick, in this part of his life, played his cards close to his chest. He was good for a laugh any time and well respected as well as well received in the motor sporting community. The word has now spread around this community that they have lost another of their old friends. And way too soon.

I had a man come past my place in a wheel chair while I was working on my 65 Mustang. He came back quite a few times and he told me he was Ian Geoghegans mechanic. He gave me some photos of himself and Pete. He said to me one day. " By the way, my name is Wasa. I live at Golden Beach on the Sunshine Coast and was wondering if Michael is the same person. He was very helpful for me while I was doing work on my Stang. Barry
