I first met Maureen in 1987 when we both had young children and together founded the Perth arm of Foster Parents Plan. Maureen’s deep connection with Plan stemmed from her father’s involvement with the non government organisation which she has continued to support generously throughout her adult life.
Children are at the heart of everything they do.
Foster Parents Plan, now Plan International, was founded in 1937 by British journalist John Langdon-Davies and Maureen’s father, Eric Muggeridge. Originally named 'Foster Parents Plan for Children in Spain', the aim was to provide food, accommodation and education to children whose lives had been disrupted by the Spanish Civil War.
