You always found it disturbing when I started mumble during our conversations, looking for the right words. Well, I haven't been so lost for words for a long time.. Maybe there simply are no words to describe this loss and we are left with silence and good memories.. You will be missed dear Mark. Mémé

You gave it your all, maybe a little more than you should have.. but after all that's how we should all live our dreams. I will remember you with your calmness in the midst of a storm and positive attitude no matter what. To Mark's family - you must be so proud to have had such a wonderful person for a son, a brother, a relative! He was one of the kindest people I have met and he will be remembered that way by so many people.

I went to boarding school with Harro, a quirky guy who always had a smile on his face. I can honestly say I was richer for knowing him and sad he has left us.

You finally let me take a photo of you..little did I know this would be our last coffee together. I can't get my head around this. Love you, my brother.

This is the same outfit he was wearing when I last met him in Bondi too. I was this whinging investor guy, smaller in size and slightly younger, drilling him about why he had not cut the tech budget yet. I was half-expecting an Aussie bloke of his stature and pride to thump me one. Instead he thought about it for a while, took it on the chin and calmly agreed with me. After some tough cuts and decisions, had the company almost profitable with strong future prospects. That's how I'm going to remember him.

Mark was brave and adventurous, living the entrepreneurial life as many would have wanted to and didn't. Well done on the courage Mark, good effort! Hope you're resting easy now. Pray for the rest of us still on the journey!

Sometimes you meet people that are different. Mark is such a guy. His open personality, is something you want to protect. Not because he's weak, but you never want him to close up. Sometimes the world is unfair. Mark not being with us anymore is such a moment. You should be back here now and work on your project and have more experiences and adventures. We miss you

One night, Mark and I were walking down Haarlemerstraat trying not to misbehave too much, when he told me a story about his father dying. I don't remember too many of the details but there was this one moment in the conversation when Mark's voice really choked up. He was telling me how a while after his father died, he met some people who used to work with his dad. They told Mark how universally liked and respected his dad had been and how much his death had affected them all. His heart was just overcome with pride for his old man at that point. So if you can share a proud word about him to someone who knew him once in a while, I'm certain it would have brought that huge, proud smile to his face to have been remembered in that way.

Ahh Mark, I miss our conversations about the ups and downs of the entrepreneurial life, and the zen of not being bothered by the little things. You were a kind and generous person, and a cherished friend. I'm so sorry that your adventure got cut short mate. Rest in Peace.

As one of mark's sisters it is immensely comforting to read these words and see these pictures. this photo is one of my favourite ever! To see him laugh this way is fantastic. It's interesting to find out more about the great life he had over there and the lovely people he was around. Our family are very glad he got to start living his dream before his life was unfairly cut short xo

Indeed Maree, Mark's life has been cut way too short. Am glad to see though you discover a glimpse of Mark's life, or better said his impact, here in Europe.
