Br Ed will be missed we had many battles at school he was determined to bring the best out in us boys i was just as determined to show him the worst i nearly won but he beat me. Br Ed showed me what compassion is and dignity for self and others we kept in touch over the years and we all looked forward to catching up with him at our reunion as Phillip says he was our football coach but he was also my life coach if i was the only one then his life was worthwhile but i know there are many more. he was a mate.God bless you Br Edmund.

I have many fond memories of Br Edmund, he was our coach in the Under 16s when he was the Principal at Casino Marist Brothers. We used to get a regularly and familiar rousing at half time, "boys I want you to do one thing this half, tackle, tackle, tackle". I remember one day in a game against Kyogle, I deliberately ankle tapped an opposition player after he had scored a try. The ref missed it, but Br Edmund didn't. He was livered, he called me to the sideline for a tongue lashing about cheap shots. He was right and it was something that stuck with me. You take defeat on the chin and congratulate the opposition.
