I only met Jon once, at his brother Mick's wake. My birthmother ( I was adopted out early in her life) was married to Mick and they had 4 childern, I regarded meeting Jon Cleary as one of lifes priviliges. Jon Cleary was a household name while I was growing up - my mother and her Sister, farming girls from Young, loved his books , as I remember it. ( Mum's deceased now). Unfortunately I miised Jon's passing and having only found out today (13 Sep 2011), make this Tribute to Jon from all the country folk who he brought pleasure to, including and especially my Mum who raised me.
