I know your still in the building..just on the rooftop helicopter pad..we just stuck here in the lobby waiting for a pass from security..LOVE YOU DOG. PEACE....YOUR BROTHER XO. AKA ARTIE
Jerrold loved animals - especially turtles. I saw this huge turtle the other day and wanted to send him a picture and let know I was thinking about him, so here we go. ;-)When I went to Yellowstone last year I sent him pictures of some of the animals - elk, bald eagles, moose and his favorite - the bison. He was in awe at the hundreds of bison - adults and babies - as well as the ones that crossed the road right in front of the car. A week or so before the accident he was telling me about a baby deer he saw next to the road, and I could just hear the smile in his voice. I miss that.
RIP, we all miss you very much. I am so honored to have been a part of your life also. I still feel your presence but miss your voice and laughter.
I remember, when Uncle J would come to our house (in Queens or morehead City), and as soon as he walked in the door he would say " what yall' got to eat?". He always told how proud he was of us finishing school, joining the military (even though he wouldn't do it himself;for his own reasons), and to keep up the good work. I'm going to miss him and his silliness, but I know he'll always be with us.
I truly miss you my other brother from a different mother. You would always call me when you came thru. I miss all the stories we would be cracking up on. I miss how so clean and so fresh you would be whenever we have a gathering. Your life was truly cut too short but I want you to know that I am missing you truly. The last time we go together was at Mark's house and we was having fun then. I know you are looking down on us and we will share love, hugs, laughs and cries again my cousin. I still can't believe you are gone but it's real. I pray for strenth that we all can get thru this difficult time with you and all of the family members we have lost along the way. Lovin Always, Barbie D and family
It started out with 3 car loads of us(Family) on 95south, on our way to Fla. 2 spend Xmas with family there. Well the trip was nice, fun and easy until we met up with cuzin Jerrold in South of the Border. All the fun & laugther started. He met us there with his 3 boys & his fiance Valencia. He knew everything to do & every place to go to eat. We then had to get some sleep b4 we continued on the road, he knew where 2 take us to get some rest. He really knew all the rest stops. I had the most wonderful time at cuzin Carolyn's house, that's when he wore the white outfit with the hat on his last Xmas he spent with us. He was a really funny guy and kept u laughing and he loved his family. RIP- CUZ !!! Luv, luv
During the time growing up together we shared sooo many good times playing sports, doing music together and even going to school together we some of the best years of my life. Jay was a brother that you can look up to and be proud of his abilities. He loved basketball and had hops like Michael Jordan. I remember when he played for Bayside H.S. he had guys from 6'4 to 7 feet tall on his team, but when the game started Jay would jump center as small as he was compared to them. He had the best skills on the court at his size. I learned a lot from him and always protected me where I'd go. Due to being so popular, his friends became my friends. Because of Jay I see family as the treasure he seen in them. During visits he would bring me up to date with all the happenings in the family. I was so proud of him when I would see him in his BIG TRUCK. I even have a new found respect for all truck drivers because of Jay. Please put your tag on this site to never let the light go out. I Love You Always My Big Brother.... You Will Always Be With Me. Peace Out!
i can remember walking around the hood with jerrold day or night he could see a car half a block away and name the car. i would always be like yeah right and sure enough when we get to the car he would always be right. i never could figure out how he did it
ANyone who knows Jay knows he was always looking for the hook up for his people. Back in the day when Jerrold started hanging out in Brooklyn one of his friends had Jay convinced he could hook him up with a truck load of Adidas & Nike sneakers. Jay came and let just about everyone in the neighborhood know he was going to hook them up with a pair of kicks. Jay was hyped everyone he met he was going to have the latest kicks. Well the Nike and Adidas never came, and we laughed about it for many, many years, but I will never forget my brother for wanting to hook up all of Cambria with a pair of kicks. I know if he could he would rain down Adidas and Nike to everyone he promised a pair becuase that's how much love he has for everyone.
As much as Jerrold love driving there were times when he wanted to leave the road for more local runs. He checked into many companies but with the economy declining he knew over-the road paid more. The reason Jay worked so hard was because he wanted to take care of his boys. Jay was proud of each of them and talked about them all the time. Whether it was Jalik and DaShaun excelling in sports or Neuquan getting good grades Jay was excited about his children. He saw so much potential in them to be whatever they wanted to be. He was tough with them too because he didn't want any of them to go down the wrong path. He knew there was too much greatness in them. Jay would say they come from good stock. I know they are going to do their dad proud...
WHEN WE USE TO DO PARTIES , KEITH WAS THE DJ, CHARLES , JERVIS ,DWAYNE AND ME ,GARRY , WAS THE MC'S, BUT OUR REAL DEAL AND CROWD PLEASER WAS JERROLD. HE USE TO JUST MAKE UP ALL KINDS OF ONE LINERS , AND HE TOOK A WHILE TO GIVE THE MICROPHONE BACK , IT WAS OK , BECAUSE EVERYONE WOULD START DANCING , AND YOU COULD FEEL AND SEE THE ENERGY COMING FROM JERROLD. HE USE TO SAY ANYTHING ON THE MIKE ,AND SOMETIMES IT MADE NO SENSE BUT IT STILL SOUNDED LIKE A REAL MASTER PLAN. " EVERYBODY SAY HOOOOOO ! " JERROLD LIVES IN MANY HEARTS , IN MY HEART HE WILL ALWAYS BE EZ GEE GARRY
HOOOOOOO!!!! Remember Jammin in Cambria Park, I could see him holding the mike , baseball cap flipped backwards, rocking the park on "Aint we funkin now" from up on top of the speakers!!!!! That was incredible!!!!
I met Jerrold through emails. We had exchanged several, before I adopted him as my Big Bro. I have a big brother, but not like Jerrold. He was one of a kind. Whenever I had a problem, he was always there to send me off in the right direction. I was his lil sis, and don't even know if he knew my real name or not. It didn't matter much, as long as he stood by me, in my life's many challenges. I would like to believe that he will always be here for me, as well as his family. He spoke of the family, and he dearly loved you. I will miss him. And somehow I know he would be saying, "Lil Sis, now dry those tears, tomorrow will be a better day" Thank you for allowing his friends to come in, as I have, to enjoy reading about Jerrold's life. It means a lot to me. God Bless you all, and please, take care.
Your family now. My brother touched a lot of lives and believe me once your life was touched by him you have been touched by all of us. So I am thankful that you shared and I pray that God will continue to bless you. I am Jay's little sister and I am glad he recruited another sister for me.

My big brother loved me so much and I loved him. Even though he was the oldest, Jay would often call me for advice. He knew I wouldn't just tell him what he wanted to hear but I would try to give good counsel because I always had his best interest at heart. Jay would do the same for me as well. Usually I didn't ask for the advice but he knew just when I needed a word; whether it was to get clarity, to encourage me or just to say I love you sis. I've learned from him that love that can not be contained it must be shared and freely given; it needs to move and breathe from heart to heart, from person to person. Although I miss him more than words could ever express, I will honor him by loving everyone I can and freely expressing as he did how important my beautiful family and friends are. I loved Jay but God loved him best, he took him home to give him rest. Now Jay can see us all from above, expressing to each other the beauty that was him, that beauty called love.
Indeed Carol, indeed!
Family was so important to Jerrold - especially his boys. Just week before the accident he was saying that he wanted to organize a family reunion because it seemed like the only time people got together was for funerals. I hate that he's gone, but I'm sure he is so proud that everyone is reaching out to one another and keeping his dream alive. Let's continue to keep loving one another through this difficult time and into the future.
This is so true, for Monty, for Gloria, for Jay, for Audrey Berry and for all those who have gone on before us. Let's make it our business to stay connected. I love you all and together we will continue to make a difference.
I remember Jerrold as always laughing and pleased with life. There are few times I can actually remember seeing him throughout his life but of course it started in our hometown Cambria. He was always laughing and just enjoying life. He, like his brother, is all about family. They cherish and believe and empower their family---and for that I say thank you. I will miss you. Christine
I remember the many times Jerrold came by to visit after a run with the truck. He was always so funny. There was a day he came from a trip with the truck and Butch invited him over for dinner. I was always a stickler about taking your shoes off before anyone came into the house, and that day was no different. Well, Jerrold took his shoes alright, and WOW, my whole house was engulfed with fumes of sweat. It seemed as if he was in the truck for months. I asked Butch to please place his shoes outside to air out... I told Jerrold to take the lysol and spray his shoes...We all laughed for hours... And eatiing wierd food was Jerrold fortay...He had his own menu. We Love you Jerrold and will miss you always. Your family from Houston...
I met Jerrold 2 1/2 years ago when I started dating his cousin. He was a nice and caring person. He would always ask me....Are you taking good care of my cousin? Then he would say he better be treating you right. My kids loved him. The youngest one Jamari would always say that Jay was funny and cool. He was a man who loved his family and his friends dearly. He will truly be missed.
We all know Jerrold loved music, so being the main Deejay during his life, I figured I'd play some tunes, breakbeats & tracks he loved to rap to when we used to jam back in the days. I'm working on a remix of them all. If you know of other tunes he liked, let me know and I'll play it. Don't worry I have just about everything so drop me a line @ Quiksearch@msn.com. Feel free to leave your Ideas as well. They'll be greatly appreciated. I already know a honorary annual event for Jerrold is being talked about but nothing is defined yet. EVERYONE here will be kept informed and asked for input. My love to ALL!
Over the years Jerrold became quite concerned about how the family had become spread apart and not really keeping in contact with one another. He made it his priority that if family was in a state he had to go through he would call or stop by. JThere were no limits to where he would go with his truck. He would call and tell of all the people he had seen, people he met along the way. Jerrold's dream was for everyone to get close again and make it a priority to keep in touch with one another. Yesterday I spoke to my cousin Bruce who I haven't seen or spoken to since I was young, probably over 30 years. But it was like not one day had passed. The love was still as strong. I want that to be our tribute to Jerrold. Reach out and call someone, embrace your family (blood and otherwise), help those who are struggling, lay aside all the hostility. Give the flowers while they are alive and can hear and receive them. I see Jerrold's dream coming true through his website, through the love that is drawing us all closer to one another. Keep the vision alive. I love each of you and I pray God will bless you abundantly. Let's stay united.
JERROLD USE TO BE LIKE A BIG BRO , HE CARED ABOUT EVERYONE , HE HAD A SUPER HEART , HE ALWAYS USE TO BE GENUINLY CONCERNED , HE WOULD SAY " YO , GARRY ! ARE YOU OK , DO YOU NEED SOME HELP ? " AND ALWAYS CONCERNED ABOUT HIS LITTLE BROTHER . DWAYNE WOULD TELL JAY TO " SHUT UP MAN AND MIND YOU BUSINESS " JAY WOULD REPLY " BUT YOU MY LITTLE BRO ", I AM SORRY I DIDNT SEE HIM OFF IN THE END , BUT IN MY HEART HE WILL ALWAYS BE. AS I SIT HERE IN THE DARK ,TEARS RUNNING DOWN, REFLECTING BACK TO THE PAST , I SEE NOTHING BUT TEETH , THE SMILE ON HIS FACE , THE GRIMMACE WHEN HE WAS MAD, THE SERIOUS B-BOP WALK , THE ROMANCER OF THE BIG GIRL , A REAL MC RAPPER, THE MAN WITH THE BIG TALK , RIP FROM YOUR LIL BRO EZG NO ONE CAN ERASE MY MEMORIES , ONE LOVE ALWAYS
There was one friend who Jay was mad at because of something that happened years ago. I told Jay it wasn't worth holding on to the anger but Jay was determined to stay mad. Well Jay had the opportunity to see this guy on one of his trips to NY and he called me so happy to let me know he saw the guy. Jay was so happy to see his friend that he forgot he was supposed to be mad at the brother. He said sis you're right it didn't matter, he looks good and I'm so happy for him.
This is the 1st weekend I had to spend alone without the one I love. Its very different, I can tell yall that! But with God' s help I know I'll make it. I just wanted to share some luv and to thank everyone for bringing back the memories. I'll share mines soon, but just not now! Luv yall!
So fresh so clean
When I first met Dwayne my sister Carmen said, "I baby-sit his brother Jerrold." She loved him and my family loved him. Later my older sister Norma and her ex-husband Butch had a few trucks and were privileged to have Jay drive for them. It is like Jerrold was more my brother than brother n law. He was real on his feelings and fun to be around. He loved his nephews and even more his children. He would tell me Jalik is going to be like Jamar and seeing Jamars no. 52 on Jalik's jersey, he is following his fathers’ dreams for him. Dwayne, instill his lessons from his brother onto his own boys. Jay protected his loved ones and took nothing for granted. He is a real brother. He is my brother - I am going to miss you! Ace

16 years agoThat is SOOO true. The reason he worked so hard was so his boys could have what they needed. He wanted them to be able to go to basketball camp as well as go to college. He wanted them to get a good education so they wouldn't have to be out on the road and away from their families like he was. He had looked into local driving, a local factory job - or even going back to school - but couldn't figure out how to make enough money doing that to take care of the boys.
