Living so far away in Australia means that we do not get to see our extended family often, so we are so glad that Betty was able to visit with us a few years ago. What a holiday she had - Mom kept everyone very busy - you can rest when you get home! Betty was so full of life, always laughing and truly enjoying every moment of it. There was nothing like it though when we were all able to get together at Mom's place. Betty your zest for living and love of life will never be forgotten - you are an amazing woman. We miss and love you lots... Deb and Peter and Adam and Daniel
.......You haven’t been gone very long and I already miss you ! I think of the times you took me to Woolworth’s or Newberry’s {5 & 10 cent stores} we sat and had BLT’s, which was our favorites. I think of the police officer who stopped you and you had pooped your pants----and Wow—the aroma— All he told you was “Just go home” Ha , how funny !!! Our trip to Hawaii, I know what happens in Hawaii stays in Hawaii, — no... not me, I tell all. “You story teller you” On the plane going and coming home , we laughed all the way !!! “But you remember,” It was me (Jeanie) that Flashed the Old Guy in Hawaii — Now that’s funny!!! I have to go – but remember GOD says we will see each other again !! Take care of my Edie, Love you Sister Jeanie
I just want to take this time to say thanks for being such a wonderfull wife to my brother Ruben (Richard), thank you Betty, for all you did for him. Thanks for the love and kindness you showed to the entire Velarde family. We will love and miss you always. ~Daniel & Betty Adams and family
The service was nice yesterday, it was nice to see everyone come together again and share wonderful memories of you! Of course besides not having you there you know what i missed??? Your PASTA SALAD!!! The food didnt seem right without your infamous pasta salad and my extra that you always set aside for me to take home. Hope you were looking down and smiling! Love you Aunt Betty!!! Nicole, Tashina and Schalei
One of my favorite memories of Aunt Betty was on my wedding day back in October of 1986. When it came time to cut the cake you could clearly hear her voice saying "now you know what to do with it!, In the face!!" After that day we all would immitate that saying at every wedding we went too! Another good memory I had was when she re-married her husband Richard. It was such a beautiful ceremony, they both teared up as they spoke their vows. There was alot of love between them. And another.. I was having an out patient surgery in April of 2010 and when I arrived at the surgery center, Aunt Betty was there. I was surprised as I thought she was there for another family member. Come to find out she was there for me.. I was so humbled that she came there for me. She told me she was there for my Mother and I. She stayed the whole time with my husband even though it was not a major surgery. She was so thoughtful. She really touched me that day. Betty had a wonderful heart... Another good memory was our family get togethers at my Nanny's. Betty was always in charge telling us "let's eat!" She loved being with the family! I loved all the Christmas Eve's! She was always so loving and giving! I will miss Betty so much. I love her and her wonderful heart. She was always so good to me, my family and to my mother. She will never be forgotten.. with all my love always Aunt Betty, Sandy
