Dear Hopkins Family,
I'm looking at a beautiful painting of a woman on horseback (as though a hunter) in a forest filled with animals. On the saddlepack (where bullets might be) is a sack filled with food for the animals.
This was the first painting ever given me -- by my wonderful grandmother (who also loved everything Elizabeth Hopkins -- she owned several). This painting began my art collection, and it remains one of my favourites.
You can't help but smile when you admire one of these pieces.
What a great talent.
Wishing you love and peace,
catherine
