Duncan Bate was a remarkable man who never would say "I can't do it". He would always in his quite, unassuming and easy going laconic manner do those things that other people would only dream of. He was a "doer" and not a talker and you could guarantee he got the job done when others were still talking. He was always a gentleman and will be missed by many people who loved him in Australia.
