That is how my friendship with Scott began, long night online chats. At the time, Scott was caregiver for both his mother and grandmother. It was not easy, and he needed to vent and so he did. Eventually these chats evolved into long telephone calls. Several times we made plans to meet in Joplin for dinner or a movie or just to hangout, but something always happened and we didn't meet. After both his mother and grandmother had passed on, he moved to Lanagan and was able to invite me over one evening for dinner. That was the only time we got together until he became ill and was hospitalized in Joplin. I sat with him for hours in the hospital and we played Phase 10 until the pain shots started to dull his senses. When he started discarding the "Wild Cards", I knew it was time to quit and let him rest. I have fond memories of those online chats, the phone calls, and those tough days in the hospital. Scott I miss you.
