Clive was an active member of the Friends of Warringah Library. His lively and thoughtful comments on our guest speakers and his considerable knowledge of local and Australian history will be missed. Our thoughts are with his family at this time. Carol Yuen Warringah Library

Clive was a great man. who loved a good book. I there was something that clive was unsure about, no doubt you would find him in a day or two with a book describing it to great depth. Clive loved his family and we loved him. He will be missed.

Clive, you and I had a lot of fun researching and ultimately writing about Victor Cusack's Hornsby water clock. This resulted in a front cover article in the Horological Journal in 1995. You were like a terrier when it came to seeking out background information on the clock. You were like this with everything you wrote; and consistent with this approach you collected a huge amount of information on the origins and evolution of the Sydney Clockmakers Society (SCS) which now resides in our library. Although you moved away from the Sydney Clockmakers Society in recent years we will miss your cheerful and enthusiastic delving into how clocks work and documenting the dealings of the SCS. Vale Clive, you have left us with many fond memories! Philip Kuchel
