Thank you Brenda for all the wonderful years that we had together and for our treasured moments that we shared often. You left us with an unforgettable Rainbow on the day of your farewell, we know it was a sign from you. Everytime we see a rainbow in the sky we will smile and be reminded of you. You will be sadly missed and never forgotten, we will love you forever. your loving sister-in-law, and as you shared with me often, your big sister. love, Barby

thank you Brenda for the wonderful memories you have left us all, we shared special moments that only we know to well that meant a lot to us over the years. You left us with an imprint of a special rainbow on your day of farewell, it was a sign that was strongly felt, everytime a rainbow appears in the sky, it will always remind me of you. You will always be remembered and never forgotten. Your loving sister-in-law and as you shared with me often, your Big Sister, i will love you forever. Barby L.U.L

I could see Brenda's bedroom window from mine after our top floor extension was built. It was comforting somehow. I knew from visiting the Wiggins' house that Brenda' bedroom was neat as a pin - mine more chaotic. I loved that she and Marcia were so particular. I'd see them moving around the room together getting her ready for bed - their shadows moving gently on the blind. I'd know then that all was right with the world and I could sleep. Playing on "the soft green grass" on the other side of Dunstable Road and in our backyard pool with Brenda was great fun. She'd have to wear zinc cream and a white shirt over her cossies because she had lovely fair skin. My own skin was sturdy and the colour of wood. Brenda and my older brother Ken ganged up on me often! He remembers them victimising me (you can do that to your younger sister). I just remember looking up to her. I even wanted to 'be' her on occasions; she seemed so much more self assured and elegant. When our parents were out at Lodge balls or events we'd get to have pyjama parties together with loads of lollies and games. I'd wake up in the morning with a sugar hangover and she would have been spirited away by Fred and Marcia in the night. That always seemed a little sad. The best photo we have of Brenda is from an Easter hat parade. My brother's hat was a tall stovepipe a couple of feet high and mine was a big egg that wrapped around the edges of my face. I can't remember what her hat looked like but I feel sure it had a ribbon. I definitely remember her face ... Marjorie Lewis-Jones (nee Simpson)
