rest in peace...

Twenty years of football pain and frustration were ended the day we beat the Cowboys. I will remember that as the true Superbowl that year. The one you orchestrated to free us, give us pride and honor. I honor you. May you rest in peace. You were an amazing man to watch. I feel like I knew you though I didn't and that is your true gift.

Not only a great coach, but a great human being too. Thanks for the victories!

I am 33 and growing up, Bill was and still is an inspiration. Thank You.

The Best Coach the 49ers ever have.

You are an institution in the Bay Area. A class act from top to bottom. You took the Niners and created a football dynasty that lasted more than a decade. As a Bay Area native, I thank you for everything you brought to the area and to the game.

RIP, Coach Walsh, I miss you though I never met you. I feel as if I have lost a member of my family. Your turning around the 49ers' Franchise made me a fan for life. When you form your team in heaven, I have a brother there, his name is Ray, put him on the team. He can be a great punt returner. I miss both of you. Enjoy the game. You are well loved and sorely missed.

you were the only one who turned the 49ner's around. a team who everyone thought was garbage. brought the superbowl to the bay, and left hope in heart of the fans that one day they will bring it home again. now that you're gone, do you think you can possess the niner coach and help out our team? haha coz we all know that you're the only one who can do it. rest in paradise. you will always be remembered

Really will miss your funny and witty sense of humor. One of the few Football people that has been known for what he was a Football Genius who could wear the armor to be it. I never write these notes, but to you Bill Walsh you are worth it, you will always be a inspiration to me. Thanks for being arround for 75 years.

Bill--- We will miss you from the days at Candlestick park with the 9er's (my family lived on Ingerson St). Thank you To the Walsh Family--- our deepest sympathy and may God be with you in your hour of need.

Bill Walsh being interviewed, the best coach ever.

Bill you will always be connected to the 49'ers. You were one of the best! Respect to you. Bless your family

The man only walked the pro sidelines for 10 years, yet accomplished so much. Hell, the west coast offense was his concoction, and it's still put to use on many teams today. But more than that, he was widely respected as a gentle man.

The Catch was the seminal moment in Bay Area football history. It marked a before and after for the 49ers, all thanks to your genius. You will not soon be forgotten...
