I was a student at MHS and can say that not a lot of teachers had a great positive influence in my life... Mrs Buckley was one of the few that did. I am saddened to hear of this... RIP Mrs Buckley...

Anne was a part of a wonderful group of 16 long term friends we affectingly called SHOBS (Sydney High Old Boys). After the “boys” left school in 1967 they played rugby for the old boys. Over the next couple of year the “girls” started watching their valiant efforts. The next forty years forged a most extraordinary friendship. In the early years there were many dinners and parties. After the kids arrived there were many Sunday afternoon BBQs where the children would perform their plays, and the occasional dinner out. As time went on we started our many trips together to celebrate the milestones of life or just to share each other’s company. These trips culminated in the “SHOBS Tuscany Tour of 2009” to celebrate turning 60. Our gatherings were always filled with laughter, bad jokes and occasional sore heads. We have been there together through courtships, marriages, births, weddings, grandchildren and now very sadly our first loss. Anne was a dynamo - full of infectious energy and fun. But more than that, Anne was also a loving and sincere friend who was always there when we needed help or advice or just someone who would listen and care . Anne’s death has been deeply felt by us all and our hearts go out to Rick, Karen and Nikki. Anne wrote in the guest book at Wamberal in 2006 “Another wonderful weekend, so pleased to be a part of the ‘16’!” Anne was a constant in our lives. She will always be with us. We will always be 16. Ray and Sue Brooks, Stephen and Sue Hamilton, Chris and Jackie Little, Rob and Kris Little, Warwick and Angela Selby, Dennis and Kate Sinclair, and Col and Sue Wood. Always remembered, always missed.

Dear Anne, you always thought of everyone and were so thoughtful. I remember the happiness you gave us coming to Carla's first birthday. You made that day special then but even more special now. The beautiful quilt you made for Carla will always be cherished as will the photo of you, Carla and David on Carla's birthday. You had this ability Anne to connect will all people and make them feel special. You are simply a beautiful and elegant lady Anne and the love we all share for you will remain in our hearts forever. Love Sarah, David and Carla

My kids called you Ms Buckley. You were an amazing teacher who always inspired and bought out the best in my children, and I am guessing, all the children you taught. I called you Anne. You were an enthusiastic tennis player, competitive and fair. You were great to play against because I knew I would always have a great chat at morning tea!! You will be greatly missed. You made a difference in many lives. Love Karen Madeley

Anne was a wonderful, enthusiastic person - a great member of the community and an inspirational teacher. She had a wonderful rapport with her students, was dedicated to bush regeneration and making the study of geography 'real' for her classes. I was always amazed at her energy and attention to detail - I would often sit next to her in a staff meeting or at morning tea and admire how her fingernails were always painted to match the colour scheme of her outfit. She took such pride in the little things and yet was one of the first to put up her hand and get involved in so many facets of life and her work. Anne - you have touched the hearts and minds of so many. You will be greatly missed. With love, Trish Swinkels - ESL Faculty, Marsden High School.
